Protecting Our Future, Our Children
The COVID-19 pandemic is driving child hunger rates to catastrophic new heights. While schools—a lifeline for children in poverty—remain closed, vulnerable kids have missed more than 740 million meals. As soon as schools were forced to close their doors, our Handprynt team jumped into action. Our goal: feed as many hungry kids as possible.
Thanks to the support of our generous donors, we are proud to share that, so far, we’ve served over 18,000 meals!
Every Dollar Makes a Difference
On April 20th, we made our first pledge to City Harvest, providing over 13,000 meals for people in New York City, one of the pandemic’s hardest hit areas. A week later, our contributions provided homemade, satisfying meals to more than 275 pediatric patients and frontline health care workers at UCLA Children’s Hospital. On May 1st, we joined forces with Blessings in a Backpack to provide 250 children across the country with bags filled with food hand-selected by professional nutritionists. On May 11th, we worked with the School Nutrition Foundation to fund a grant supporting an entire school district in Ohio, providing 3,000 meals/day to over 13 different sites for Sandusky City Schools. Most recently, we teamed up with Seattle Mariners first basemen Evan White and the MLB Player’s Trust to cover the entire student lunch debt for Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools. Their Fill My Tummy Fund provides extra meals for children with families who may be facing financial hardships.
Uniting Together Under the Power of One
While we are proud of the impact we’ve made together, there is still more work to be done. With millions of children going to bed hungry each night, we ask that you please make a donation and help us feed kids facing hunger. 100% of your contribution will help provide critical resources to the people who need it most; we do not take a single penny.
Although we are physically apart, the Power of One campaign is proof that we are all united by something much bigger than ourselves. Thank you for visiting Handprynt and leaving your mark.
